Bio Holding master's degrees in speech-language pathology and counselling therapy, I offer services in both disciplines, and where both skills and areas of expertise are useful together, for example in stuttering therapy and in play therapy.
Over the course of my career, I have lived in three countries, and hold two Master's Degrees - in speech-language therapy and counselling therapy. I became a mindfulness practitioner in 1986, and an authorized meditation instructor in 2007.
I am a member of the Canadian Association of Play Therapy and have completed all three levels of their certification training. I am very passionate about helping children and see children with problems from anxiety, victims of abuse, depression, social skills, and bullying.
I was trained as a speech-language pathologist in Aachen, Germany, and went on to do my Master's Degree in Human Communication at City University, London, England. After working for a few years in community health centres in London, I became a specialist in the field of childhood and adult stuttering. I had the opportunity to work for and get trained by the Michael Palin Centre for stammering children. I received the Lidcombe Program training, and also did extensive training with Carolyn Cheesman at the City Lit (adult education centre) in London. I teach the Dysfluency Disorder Course within the Speech-Language Pathology program at Dalhousie University.
