During these unprecedented, challenging times, are you looking for some direction for yourself or for your children? With so much fear and uncertainty, you may be finding it increasingly hard to cope, or find the inspiration and motivation to move forward in your life. Structure and daily routines, which you had come to rely upon, may have fallen by the wayside. Your children no longer have a need to get up to go to school. They may be more interested in video games than reading or playing together harmoniously. They are not in their social group, so you have to be their play mate, home school teacher, and parent. Your patience may be wearing thin, and economic concerns may be a real, on-going worry. Click here to access my play therapy services page.
On the positive side, perhaps you are making use of this opportunity to pause and to go deeper in befriending yourself. Whatever may be happening in your life can be seen as an opportunity for growth, rather than a surrender to feeling stuck or dissatisfied.I use mindfulness-based, embodied and other approaches for counselling. To calm the triggered, upset nervous system, I offer the Safe and Sound Protocol, a listening training based on Polyvagal Theory. It is a fantastic tool, creates fast changes in the brain, that lead to more regulated behaviour and both children and adults. Click here to access my SSP page.
Parenting consultation is based on recognizing and understanding your family’s self-limiting patterns, and how best to loosen their stronghold, finding a new way forward that makes sense to you.
I also offer two services as a speech-language pathologist: stuttering therapy (see here) and therapy for dyslexia (see here)
